Join us for a conversation with Dolores Huerta about her life and work as a revolutionary and inspirational leader dedicated to social justice and the future of America. Dolores Huerta was the Co-founder of the United Farm Workers Association and is one of the most influential labor activists of the 20th century and a leader of the Chicano civil rights movement. She has been the recipient of many honors, Huerta received the Eleanor Roosevelt Human Rights Award in 1998 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012. 

As of 2015, she has been the Secretary-Treasurer Emeritus of the United Farm Workers of America and the President of the Dolores Huerta Foundation. Dolores Huerta is currently featured in Holocaust Museum Houston’s Human Rights gallery, alongside Cesar Chavez, highlighting the history of the United Farmworkers Union.   

The evening will begin with a blessing from Danza Azteca Taxcayolotl and a one act Teatro Campesino play be performed by the Houston Latinx theatre company, TEATRX. 

Admission is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required.
