Join Holocaust Museum Houston for a multidisciplinary tribute to Boris Lurie (1924-2008)- Holocaust survivor, artist, activist, and founder of the NO!art movement- through a powerful combination of historical music, visual art, archival testimony, and live performance.
The program will discuss the ways in which radical remembrance, personal catharsis, and resistance to complacency drove Lurie in his artistic style.
Featuring accomplished violinist Ilana Zaks-Nederlander, this program will honor Lurie's legacy with works by Jewish composers persecuted during the Holocaust.
You will also hear from Stephanie Stebich, Executive Director of the Boris Lurie Art foundation, and excerpts from the Fortunoff Video Archive at Yale University will bring additional depth.
There will be a Q&A session with Ilana and Stephanie at the end of the program.
