Saturday January 8

9:00 AM  –  4:00 PM

Join us for a one-day Holocaust 101 education workshop for teachers. Educators will learn how to approach the subject of the Holocaust in the classroom. The workshop will use Holocaust Museum Houston’s galleries to introduce the Holocaust and will provide a variety of resources, including the Holocaust Remembrance Toolkit to utilize in the classroom. Topics include the long and short term causes of the Holocaust, using testimonies and diaries with students, and how art can help us gain a better understanding of the survivor experience.

Teachers from the 6th-12th grade, university and extracurricular programs (music, art, etc.) are encouraged to participate in this FREE workshop.

Participants will receive HMH’s Holocaust Remembrance Toolkit containing lessons plans, primary sources, and books.

This workshop will credit 7 CPE hours and 6 GT hours.

Please note: In consideration of the health and safety of our event guests and museum staff, HMH will require all event guests to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (including a booster shot) by presenting a vaccination card/photo or a negative test within the last 72 hours of event. Face masks are required for all guests ages 2 and up. Complimentary masks are available at the Security desk.
