A Distinguished Presidential Fellow at Rice University and Senior Adviser to the President of Harvard University on HBCU Initiatives, Dr. Simmons served as President of Prairie View A&M University until March 2023. Dr. Simmons' memoir, Up Home, is a New York Times bestseller.
