Film Screening of Among Neighbors – Special Event Release
Join Holocaust Museum Houston for a reception and film screening of Among Neighbors – Special Event Release in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
Combining magical realism with traditional documentary techniques, Among Neighbors examines the mystery of a small, rural town where people of two different faiths lived side by side for centuries — until the killing began. The film reveals both love and betrayal as it zeroes in on a crime committed among neighbors: the murder of Holocaust survivors in Poland, six months after the end of World War II. The chilling facts revealed in this documentary have led the office of Poland’s nationalist president to call for a ban on the film.
The Special Event Release includes 25 minutes of additional content in the form of a brief introduction by filmmaker Yoav Potash, and an in-depth post-film Q&A compilation that reveals the fascinating making-of stories––as well as the ongoing controversy––behind this critically-acclaimed film.
The program includes a reception with lite bites and beverages beginning at 5:30 PM with the film screening scheduled for 6 PM. This event is free and open to the public but advanced registration is required.
Parking is not included but can be paid following the event.
