Life and Death on the Border 1910-1920 sheds light on a difficult time in history that included both the Mexican Revolution and World War I. Opening in the Josef and Edith Mincberg Gallery, this exhibition examines the hardships and racial violence faced by people of Mexican descent on the border between Texas and Mexico in the second decade of the 20th century. The conflict in Texas would spur the Mexican American civil rights movement and inspire a cultural renaissance along the border and beyond that can still be felt today.
